Loch Doon, Ayrshire, Scotland.I made two seperate trips to Loch Doon at the end of may this year and have included a picture from each trip.It's about a 30 minuate drive for me to reach this part of the loch just next to Doon Castle ruins.I experimented with the picture above by using a 10 stop filter, this is basically fitted to the lens after deciding on compostion & taking a note of the exposure.Once fitted, you are unable to view the scene through the view finder as the filter is so dark.A quick calculation to re adjust the exposure resulting in adding a more blurred effect to the clouds, this in turn creates more drama.

Rannoch Moor, Glencoe.Strong burst of chrisom light reflects throught the scene and with the dull heavy cloud to right giving the impression of how the strong winds made it a bitter cold moment.But like all mad photographer's it has to be done.

Loch Earn, Perthshire.Loch Earn, October 2009. I travelled this stretch of loch on the way to Comrie looking for some opportunity or inspiration when I stumbled upon the boat in the water with a tall mast.Having to expose for the foreground shooting into the light I had to accept the boat would appear dark in the finished result.

Buachaille Mountain, Glencoe.Another trip up Glencoe, this time during the heavy snow.The river had frozen over and was covered in a layer of soft snow, some two feet deep.It was minus 18 degrees, bitter cold.The light was coming from behind me which cast shadows through the middle of the scene adding good contrast to this image.
