About MeMy gallery is a reflection of my favourite photographs & Video's of my travels and i have built this website in the hope that i capture your attention with visual impact together with entertaining value.I sincerely hope you have experienced this on your visit today.Thank you for making this visit. My interest in photography started some 6 years ago, having spent many years before that admiring my older brother David's images. He is a highly accomplished photographer, and i take my inspiration from him as i develop through trial & error to aspire to a similar level. I live in Ayrshire, Scotland and enjoy being out doors travelling around various locations, in particular the Scottish Highlands. Having always been an early riser, my favourite time to photograph is at dawn when the light is magical & the landscape " peaceful & quiet". This is my hobby & passion in life.I use Nikon and my first Digital SLR was the D70, since then i have upgraded my camera to the D300. It's safe to say my equipment has since got much heavier and my wallet, well........ much lighter. In October,2009 I upgraded the quality of my lens collection.Of the three new lenses that i have ear-marked to upgrade this year i have so far managed to buy two. Both wide angle.1. Nikon 10-24mm f3.5-4.5 G2. Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 G AF-S ED I prefer taking photographs in upright " Portrait" format to that of the convensional "Landscape" maximising the wide angle lens from a very low view point to fill my frame with a strong foreground element. I had hoped to purchase my final lens, a 70 - 300mm f2.8 telephoto, but may have to put this into next years wish list.
